Westerleigh is a fantastic place to live because of the old world charm of the neighborhood. A wonderful neighborhood for families and children, the feeling of community is abound here. While many people have argued about the boundaries of the wonderful town, Westerleigh’s main borders are College Avenue to Manor Road to Willow Road East to Watchogue Road to Victory Boulevard to Manor Road. Many natives have talked about how the actual ‘borders’ are different than what is accepted now. Many of the homes in the area are older Victorian and Dutch Colonial homes, however, there are many homes that have been remodeled and show the wonderful architectural diversity of the area. You also have some of the older 2 family homes, which give the area a good mix of properties.
Westerleigh is know for many different things, but the main ‘attraction’ is Westerleigh Park. The Park has a gazebo in the center of it and is home to many summer concerts and festivals.
The town is in walking distance to many shops and transportation options, which is why it is such an attractive town for prospective buyers. Between ‘Shoppers Town’ shopping center on Forest Avenue, to the many ‘Mom & Pop’ along Victory Boulevard, Westerleigh has shopping options that allow you to stay close to home. Alfonso’s Pastry Shop is one of the must visit places in Westerleigh. Known for their pastries, it’s rare to not wait on line in order to get one of their wonderful cookies.
Can’t find a certain screw or that hard to find tool? Visit Reiman’s True Value Hardware store on Victory Boulevard. This old fashioned hardware store has been in their family for a generation. It’s been said, “If Reiman’s doesn’t have it, they don’t make it’. This Westerleigh staple makes the ‘Do It Yourselfer’ a must visit.

As well as our 3 Staten Island colleges; St. John’s University, College of Staten Island, & Wagner College. This area also boasts it’s own Baseball League, the Westerleigh Little Guys on North Avenue. It’s a nice little field on a quiet street and helps the kids with the fundamentals of the game. Not only do you have the Park, but your in close proximity to other North Shore staples like Snug Harbor Cultural & Botanical Center, The Staten Island Zoo, The Staten Island Children’s Museum, and the Alice Austen House.
This area is also convenient for transportation options. The are varies buses that run along Forest Avenue and Victory Boulevard that can take you to the Staten Island Ferry, as well as express buses that can take you into Manhattan. Also the area is bordered and in close proximity to the Staten Island Expressway (which leads to our 4 bridges) and Martin Luther King Expressway (which leads to NJ via Bayonne Bridge).
